It has been quite some time since I have added to my blog. Just wanted to tell you about our cruise to the Carribbean. We actually went before Thanksgiving so I am really behind in the news but the great memories are still fresh in my mind. We left the Salt Lake Airport on Nov 14th (Friday) and flew to Atlanta and then onto Fort Laurdale Florida. We went with Jim's sister Terri and her husband and met up wWith my sister Julie and her husband who were already in Florida. We stepped off the plane and wow the humidiy was so high. Living in dry Idaho it was a real difference.
We saw some great sunsets, rode a ferry boat to the Grand Cayman islands, (a very very rough ride} and those of you who know me know that I was a tad bit afraid of deep water and then when I sae the look on the driver's face I really freaked out!!!! We rode ATV's during a heavy rainstorm that ended up being a flood causing us to detour and ride back along the highway. I really freaked out again when I saw that the cars where driving on the wrong side of the road later to find out that it is how they all drive there. We also enjoyed a long hike to visit the Coba Mayan ruins. They were awesome other than I only climbed up the first 10 steps. On the
way back there were bicycle taxis that we could have rode but we were too proud so we trudged back to the bus.
We saw the movie "Mama Mia" on a huge screen under the stars. Lots of the songs were from the group "Abba" However, I didn't know that could sing and thought it had to be a fill in. It was great - I felt like I was at a concert-Jim kept reminding me that we weren't and to stop singing so loud. I am taking it that he was a bit embarrased. Oh Well I was having fun
We saw a group in the theatre called "Abracadabra". They were portraying the group "Abba" too. Great music.
I never got sea sick but for some reason the movement (or swells as the captain called them) would make me walk crooked and I know that everyone else thought that I had drank a few too many. It was way funny except when we went out to the deck and I was afraid that I might just go overboard.
